DATA PRIVACY & STUDENT PROTECTION

Safeguarding Learner Information & Institutional Trust

Review our comprehensive data security commitments, FERPA alignment protocols, and automated information-purging standards designed to ensure student reflection tools remain secure, compliant, and under local district control.

Our Privacy Principles

Protecting Student Data by Design

The NHLI BEST Framework and New Hampshire Learning Initiative (NHLI) are committed to maintaining the highest standards of student privacy and data security. Our interactive reflection tools, rubric generators, and digital planning frameworks are built from the ground up to empower educators and students without compromising personally identifiable information (PII).

Core Data Protection Commitments

No Permanent PII Storage

Our interactive forms generate customized PDF outputs on the fly. Once a session is complete and a PDF is created, all user inputs are automatically purged from our web servers. We do not maintain a database of student responses.

FERPA & COPPA Alignment

All digital tools and reflection protocols comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Learner outputs remain strictly under local district and classroom control.

Zero Commercial Data Exploitation

We do not harvest, store, or retain student or educator data—and because we do not have access to your information, it cannot be sold, rented, monetized, or shared with third-party commercial entities, advertisers, or data brokers.

Secure Technical Infrastructure

All data transmitted through our online forms is encrypted in transit using industry-standard SSL/TLS protocols, ensuring that classroom interactions and assessment entries remain private and secure.

For District Administrators & IT Officers

Local Ownership & Control

Because our tools act as real-time PDF generators rather than a centralized student data tracking platform, school districts retain 100% ownership and governance over all generated assessment artifacts. Completed PDFs are stored directly within your district’s secure local drives, learning management systems (LMS), or student portfolios.
